DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE AS A SENIOR BUYER WITH A BACKGROUND IN THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY? Adecco is assisting a leading manufacturing company located in Lawrence, KS with their need for a Senior Buyer who will be responsible for placing orders, expediting back orders and efficiently processing paperwork for products and special orders demands.

This is a Full Time, Direct Hire opportunity working for a leading manufacturing company offering highly comprehensive benefits plan. Salary is dependent on experience. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities & Activities Performed:

Placing purchase orders supporting production requirements, following up on back orders, making special arrangements for delivery and communicating to the internal customer in a timely manner.

Maintaining current, up to date information on vendors

Establishing and maintaining current catalog pricing to ensure proper evaluation of cost standards and vendor invoicing and resolving issues related to cost and payment of invoices.

Monitoring special order requirements and placing orders and expediting as needed to support customer¿s needs.

Coordinating efficient flow of material through supply chain.

Ordering and expediting material through vendors.

Monitoring inventory levels

Evaluating, revising and maintaining inventory levels to support production planning.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Must possess strong math skills, strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Must be able to work with diverse personalities tactfully.

Must be results driven, people oriented, assertive and have sound judgment.

Must possess proficient knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite

Must possess the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

Knowledge, preference and experience in MRP/ERP systems.

Some college preferred or 1-3 years purchasing/planning experience.
